The main goal of the Society is the development of students’ knowledge of computer methods and their applications in engineering

The knowledge area of the Society includes:

  • learning new computer methods and information techniques, especially applied in mechanics,
  • training in operation of equipment and computer software,
  • development of knowledge of solid mechanics, termomechanics, biomechanics, sensitivity analysis and optimization, and mechanical structures and process modelling.

Activities:

  • granting Society members access to the equipment and computer software available in the Institute of Computational Mechanics and Engineering (ICME) laboratories,
  • conducting individual research projects and self-education of the members,
  • presentation of reports on individual research projects, semester and graduate works by the members,
  • supervising individual research projects by the ICME staff,
  • lectures by ICME staff and invited guests,
  • participation in exhibitions and presentations of equipment and software,
  • education in work of design offices, institutes and universities that apply computer methods in mechanics, by the organization of visits,
  • cooperation with other domestic and abroad student societies.

The Society was founded on October 26, 2001
