Abstract: The results of studies on identification and analysis of problem areas relating to the processes of organizational and technical aspects accompanying creation of smart dentistry services is presented in this paper. In particular, there is described a case study regarding a new approach to solve commonly existing problem in Poland and in the world of dentophobia among children. The described methods of shaping dental services is based on two main stages: analysis of integrated medical and non-medical activities that compose the comprehensive dental service designed for children with dental fear in terms of innovation, and stage reconstruction of the process of formation of dental services in the field of stress-conservative treatment at early stages of tooth decay and dental prophylaxis of milk teeth of children with dental fear into a model approach to the creation of innovative activities in the field of widely understood dental services. The two-year observation confirms the follow-high efficacy of the experimental procedure what justifies the need to provide this service as a standard and essential service in the public services system with a high standard, which in an intelligent way, i.e. enhancing the specific needs of child, smuggles the actual dental service.

Jarosław BRODNY, Kinga STECUŁA Determination of the effectiveness of the longwall shearer use
Abstract: One of the main problems of Polish coal mining is a poor use of equipment, in particular mining machines. To improve this state, it is necessary to take actions aiming at real evaluation of the use of these machines. The results should form the basis of proper service's activities in order to improve this situation. The research and the results, which the article presents, should be a crucial source of information for the analysis and the evaluation of the use of the longwall shearer in the process of underground exploitation of coal. The article is focused on the longwall shearer, which is the first link of the set of machines used in underground exploitation. Effectiveness of its work, considered in the area of availability, performance and quality of the excavated material, is essential for the evaluation of the whole exploitation process. Using data obtained from industrial automation devices, proper indicators for each of these areas were designated and they allowed the determination of the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) indicator for the longwall shearer. The analysis was conducted for 66 work shifts and the results indicate that there are large reserves in the area of use of this machine.

Robert DYLEWSKI Janusz ADAMCZYK The evaluation of environmental effects of building thermal insulation
Abstract: One of the strategic objectives in Poland and other European countries is to improve energy efficiency. This paper aims to present a method for evaluating environmental effects of the project associated with thermal insulation of the building including the assessment of sensitivity of selected variables. To evaluate the environmental impact the methodology of life cycle assessment (LCA) was used. Both the environmental costs (increased burden on the environment) related to thermal insulating materials and environmental gains (reduction of environmental load) resulting from the reduction of energy demand for heating in the use phase of the building, were taken into consideration. The options were included with regard to the type of the external wall, heat source used in the building, the type of thermal insulating material, and the climate zone in which the building is located. For each studied variant a positive effect was obtained - reducing the burden on the environment as a result of thermal insulation.

Krzysztof MICHALSKI, Anna MICHALSKA Mercury content as a part of a multi-criteria analysis of investment potential of post-mining areas
Abstract: The dynamics of economic transformation in Silesia caused that a lot of post-mining areas were left undeveloped in the areas related to the mining industry. Lack of information about the degree of degradation, key ecological features, and often unclear ownership status means, that these areas are managed by investors reluctantly. Each degraded area has some potential and it may be a source of new opportunities. It is necessary to have knowledge about them to determine the direction of re-used. A model of the computer system for decision support in choosing a strategy for redevelopment of post-mining areas is created. Model is based on a relational database which collects information on the multi criteria degraded areas, including environmental data identifying land pollution by harmful substances and hazardous, such as a mercury. The paper presents the results of the mercury content in mining wastes, which were deposited in the landfills and in the soils of post-mining areas.

Katarzyna MIDOR, Leszek TARASIŃSKI The challenges facing companies after the revision of ISO 9001: 2015
Abstract: The norms form the ISO 9000 series are among the best known standards published by the International Organisation for Standardization ISO. They contain guidelines and indicators for companies and organisations that wish for their products and services to continuously meet the clients’ requirements and to constantly improve their quality. Since its first publication in 1987, the standard has seen a few significant modifications with the most significant ones made in 2000. In September of 2015 the International Organisation for Standardization ISO published a new version of the ISO 9001 standard. From this date onward a three-year transitional period needed by every company to adjust their system to the new standard. 96000 certificates were issued in Poland in 2014 confirming conformity with the ISO 9001 standard. Therefore, all these companies have to make an effort to adjust their systems if they wish to keep their certificates. The standard is set for publication in the Polish language in 2016. The ISO 9001:2015 standard contains significant changes compared with the previous one from 2008, which necessitates significant changes in the currently operating system. The article presents the most important changes in the new ISO 9001:2015 standards as well as an attempt to interpret them.

Beata SZCZERBA, Barbara BIAŁECKA Barriers to effective management of complaints - case study
Abstract: Currently, among the manufacturing companies increasing importance of gaining knowledge, which often is seen as a competitive advantage in the rapidly changing environment. The most valuable source of information is the customer, both external and internal. It was he who plays a key role, as it allows the company to generate a profit. Hence, it is important to meet the standards, which often are very difficult to implement, especially considering the qualitative aspects of the automotive industry. A manifestation of non-compliance is complaints. They are usually unwanted by the company, but in literature you can find publications, where requests from clients are treated as an opportunity for improvement and development of the company. To effectively manage complaints and process the acquired data into information and then into knowledge is indispensable to introduce a suitable system. The authors analyzed an example of complaint management system, where, based on his experience and theoretical knowledge have identified barriers to its effective functioning.

Abstract: The subject of this article is to point out the problems of the functioning of the emergency services in crisis situations. The problem and the proposed measures and possible solutions are presented in the article on the example of a particular object of research, which is the airport Katowice - Pyrzowice. Due to the international nature of the activity of the airport, its potential susceptibility to the occurrence and effects of all kinds of emergency situations is considerable. Stringent legal provisions governing the activities of airport both in terms of safety for the purposes of operating, as well as civil aviation security are oriented to minimize both the risk of a crisis and its potential effects. Joint activities require effective coordination of all services at all levels of the level of functioning of the administration complex. The paper proposes a solution-oriented mainly on the improvement of communication between participating in the activities of emergency entities. This solution should provide coordination of emergency services at the level of the transmission of single, accurate information to all involved formation.
